About Mechanical Engineering Department

The Department was started in the year 2010 with an intake of 60 and is accredited by AICTE. Mechanical Engineering is the oldest & evergreen discipline. Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of science & mathematics for analysis, design, production and maintenance of any mechanical systems.

In the Mechanical Engineering core concept of mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, design, material science etc. are required. Mechanical engineering deals from micro-particle to the largest spacecraft. In the mechanical engineering disciplinary, we create power-using machinery as well as gas turbines, industrial machinery for daily need products & others, automobile, marine, spacecraft, electric generators, equipment for production & more. Mechanical Engineers play important roles in the manufacturing industry. In the Mechanical Engineering Department, the faculty actively participates in research work, seminars, conference & short term courses. The department is served by highly qualified and potential Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and technical staff.

Vision & Mission

Vision

To prepare the mechanical engineers, who are capable for working in an interdisciplinary environment, competent, self-reliant, entrepreneurial, and successful in advanced fields of mechanical engineering to cater the ever changing industrial demands and social needs.

Mission

Career Prospects

Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest and oldest branches of engineering. A Mechanical Engineer has the option of work in the Central Government, State Government and in the Public sector in wide range of areas. There are many options in the government sector & private industry as a Junior Engineers, Assistant Engineer, Assistant Executive Engineers, Executive Engineers, Superintendent Engineers, Maintenance Engineers, Production Engineers, and Quality Engineers etc.

The curriculum allows students to study thermal sciences, automobile, I.C. engine, design of manufacturing, system dynamics and controls, and mechanics. Mechanical engineers design, electric generators, internal combustion engines, steam and gas turbines, refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, medical devices, elevators escalators etc.

As a mechanical engineer there will be opportunities to work abroad, and you'll gain and develop the skills required for careers in business and management, IT, finance and law. These engineers are required in automobile, chemical, electronics, steel plants, oil exploration and refining, technical wings of armed forces, space research organization, etc. In agricultural sector, mechanical engineers play a vital role by establishing service centers for maintenance of tractors, oil engines, pump sets, electric motors and other agricultural equipments.

IES, Engineering Services Examination is conducted annually by UPSC to recruit engineers of four domains, Mechanical is one of them. The students can also give IAS exam with the subject Mechanical Engineering.

Design Engineer

Design and develop mechanical systems and components using CAD software, perform stress analysis, and create technical specifications for manufacturing.

Production Engineer

Oversee manufacturing processes, optimize production efficiency, ensure quality control, and implement lean manufacturing techniques.

Thermal Engineer

Design and analyze thermal systems including heat exchangers, boilers, HVAC systems, and power plant components.

Automotive Engineer

Design, develop and test vehicles and their components, work on engine systems, aerodynamics, and vehicle safety features.

Quality Control Engineer

Develop quality standards, inspect products, analyze quality data, and implement quality improvement processes in manufacturing.
