Our Advanced Laboratories

The Electrical Engineering Department has many laboratories which are modern, updated, well equipped and caters to the need of students in accordance with the curriculum of the University. Some of the major labs in the Department are:

Electrical Machine Laboratory

Electrical Machine Lab

This laboratory is Heavy Machine lab. Electrical Motors of single phase and three phase are installed here. The AC and DC generators are also placed here. This lab also has cut set working models of 3 phase Transformer, Motors and Generators. The purpose of this laboratory is to make students get knowledge about various Electrical Machines, their Characteristics and about various tests performed in Industries for Electrical Machines.

Electrical Machine Lab focuses on the study and testing of motors, generators, and transformers.
Students perform experiments to understand machine characteristics and performance.
It builds practical knowledge of real-world electrical machine operation and control.
Power Electrical& Drives Laboratory

Power Electrical& Drives Laboratory

This laboratory is equipped with various single phase and three phase electric drives with their controlling circuits. Different kinds of switching devices such as MOSFET, IGBT, Thyristors are used in the control circuits. Many motors with mechanical loads are also inducted in this laboratory. The purpose of this laboratory is to make students familiar with various drives used in the field, their working and controlling. Here students also get knowledge about various inverter circuits, their switching, frequency changing etc.

Electricaland Drivers Lab focuses on controlling power devices using electronic circuits.
Students work with components like MOSFETs, IGBTs, and motor driver circuits.
It helps in understanding the interface between control signals and power hardware.
Electrical Measurement & Instrumentation Laboratory

Electrical Measurement & Instrumentation Laboratory

This laboratory is equipped with various measuring devices. Different kinds of bridge circuits for measuring resistance, inductance, and capacitance are present here. Instrumentation kits such as LVDT, RTD, Thermocouple, Velocity tutor, etc. are also in this laboratory. The purpose of this laboratory is to show students how physical quantities are measured electrically and through remote devices.

Electrical Measurement and Instrumentation Lab focuses on measuring electrical quantities accurately.
Students use instruments like voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, and transducers.
It builds skills in calibration, error analysis, and use of modern measuring devices.
Network & Systems Laboratory

Network & Systems Laboratory

This laboratory is equipped with various network theorem kits such as superposition theorem, Theveninโ€™s theorem, Maximum power transfer theorem etc. The purpose of this laboratory is to show students the behavior of circuits at different supplies & transient, frequency responses.

Network and System Lab studies electrical network behavior and system responses.
It helps understand system stability and frequency response.
Control Systems Laboratory

Control Systems Laboratory

Control laboratory has P,PI,PID type of controllers, Lead Lag compensators, Synchro-transmitter receivers, Servomotor ,Resistance temperature detector etc. The purpose of this laboratory is to know what kind of control techniques are used in the industries.

It builds skills in stability analysis and controller design.
Students use software and hardware to analyze system response.
Control System Lab explores system modeling and feedback control.
Power Systemm Laboratory

Power Systemm Laboratory

This laboratory is based on electrical power transmission. This basically has equipments which are used in case of occurrence of fault such as various types of relays, cable fault locator, panels for fault analysis, various insulators which are used at transmission tower.

This laboratory gives a glimpse of what actually happened when a fault occurs in the transmission systems. The LG fault and 3-phase faults are created here for this purpose. The insulators shown here are actual and taken from the substations to give students exact idea about these.
